What Happens at an Initial Dental Consultation with Bespoke Dental?

We just helped a new patient Emma from Ainslie book in her initial consultation, and during our phone conversation, she asked us… I haven’t been to a dentist for a very long time, what happens at the initial consultation?

So I thought I’d make a quick video sharing with you what happens when you book your first consultation with us, just in case you are thinking of doing the same thing.

My name is Dr Miranda Sageman, and I’m the Principal Dentist here at Bespoke Dental in Turner, Canberra.

The purpose of the initial consultation here is to allow us to understand you and your dental health concerns.

We begin with a 50 to 60-minute appointment. We start by spending some time getting to know you, hear your story, your dental history, and answer any questions you may have. We understand that each person has a different story to tell and we want to hear yours, so that we can get to understand your dental goals and create a path to help you get there together.

Then we will explore more deeply the new patient medical and dental form you have filled in. We will examine your teeth and the supporting soft tissues. We’ll report to you our findings, and discuss what these may mean now and for the future.

Together, we’ll formulate a treatment plan to optimise your dental health at a pace that you are comfortable with. When you are happy to move forward, we will help you organise your next appointment, so you can begin your path to optimal dental health, giving you great confidence when you smile, talk and eat.
